Puffy Oven Pancakes (aka German Pancakes)
Puffy Oven Pancakes were one of my FAVORITE breakfasts growing up! I have always known them as Puffy Oven Pancakes, but apparently they are better known as German Pancakes or Hootananny’s. I make these probably 3 to 4 times a month for my family and they are one of the most requested breakfasts from my boys! They are seriously yummy!
If you have a larger family, you’ll for sure want to make a couple pans. We have a convection oven and I have made several pans at a time fine! My family of 4 finishes off the entire 9×13 pan! My boys are big breakfast eaters though!
Here’s how you make them:
Melt 4T of butter in the bottom of a glass 9×13 pan.
Beat together well:
6 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
dash of salt
optional: vanilla and sugar
Pour in pan and bake at 400 for approx 16-20 minutes. Serve immediately while puffy with butter, syrup and/or powdered sugar!
